black smoke indicates that it is over fuelling, probably from a faulty injector
the eggs smell is hydrogen sulphide ( rotten egg gas) and is the cat converter doing its job ( same as new car exhaust smell)
does your car have AC.... ? ac problems can make a eggy smell also a damaged catalytic converter do the same. eggy smell can be the gas from the ac leaking out. you would need to have this check as it can do harm to your lungs..
it is happen to old engine because the oil that escape from the engine(engine cover near the exhaust) when it is got hot it sends bad smell but after how many minutes if it already dried up because of heat it will gone (like frying using the used cooking oil in pan there is a different smell).
If car runs okay with egg smell, its normal and working the way it should, if car is running poorly and the rotten egg smell has gotten worse, its a sign that your exhaust catalytic converter will need to be replaced. good luck!
The rotten egg smell if it is coming from the exhaust is a very good sign that you catalytic converter has failed or is failing. but a bad or battery that is being overcharged can also make a rotten egg like smell.
The high pitch squeal ia most likely the serpentine belt on the front of the engine you can buy some belt dressing from the part store and put it on there and fix that or some soap will work also, the belt may also need to be tightened. As for the egg smell if it smells like eggs it's the catylitic converter doing it's job and is normal, although you should not be able to smell it inside the car when driving you may have an exhaust leak and could be very dangerous carbon monoxide exposure.
The "rotten-egg" smell is caused indirectly by the catalytic converter.
The main cause is a rich mixture condition from the engine. Your SUV is equipped
with a computer controlled engine management system. You can scan your computer
for fault or error codes. The information should pinpoint the malfunctioning components. There is an alternate reason for the rotten egg smell. this also can be caused by a over charged battery. if so, make sure the alternator isn't overcharging the battery cell. it will boil the contents causing the egg smell. I recommend a diagnostic run to make sure what this problem is.
