If it accelerates OK and nothing else seems wrong I wouldn't worry about it because it is probably just changes in the air flow volume through the air-intake system causing this whine!!

SOURCE: 1995 GMC SONOMA makes a loud sqeaking noise when i take off in the first to third gear, after third gear it stops, but when i get to a stop sighn it starts all back over, loud noise.

This type of noise is likely to be a universal joint that is worn out in the drive line. have a shop put it on a lift and inspect the joints.

Loud Engine Noise

Hello, it's probably not safe to drive, noises are never good news, I would suggest that you check the engine oil and if it's low add oil to it and hope it's not too late to prevent engine damage.

91 sonoma wont turn over just wines

A whinning noise is usually from the starter spinning but not engaging with the flywheel.
The solenoid or bendix gear may not be working which would require a replacement starter.
If you heard a grinding noise, I would say some teeth are missing from the flywheel.

POOR GAS MILEAGE

Have you changed the fuel filter? I know it sounds weird but a plugged filter will make a truck use more gas. The computer tries to compensate for less fuel by commanding the injectors to open longer. Also a plugged filter will cause excess back pressure on the fuel pump making it loud.. Good Luck.

What this sounds like you have a bad wheel bearing. The best thing to do is lift it up put some jack stands under each side of the axle and manualy lift the wheels see if there is any play on it .Move the wheel up and down and side to side agressively .you should have no play on it.keep me posted and I can guide you on changing the bearings.

Power stering makes a wining noise in the morning

Hi,

Initially, your described concern could be the belt. It may already be loose requiring tightening/adjustment or perhaps even replacement. In some instances, it could also indicate that the power steering pump is having difficulty turning the wheels for some reason, say tire pressure in front too low.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.
