I am guessing you dont have standard wheels fitted. Suspect incorrect size. If standard sounds like you have front end damage altering the steering geometry.

SOURCE: replace front wheel bearing

its actually pretty easy if you have the basic tools needed and a little mechanical knowledge, because i dont think you can buy just the bearing at a auto parts store. they sell you the whole hub assembly which is great for the DIYer.

lift the car off the ground and block it from rolling and place a jack stand under it so it cant fall on anyone.

SOURCE: front and strut replacement, how?

Yes, you need a spring compressor. The sturt and coil spring come off as one. Then you need to compress spring to remove strut. The old one off and the new one on and then un-compress the spring and remount in car.
Sounds simple, but it can take a while.

Front struts noisy when steering turned

1. The top bushings on the Mac' struts have DRIED out, where the strut rod passes thro' the top mounting anchor. Disconnect using a Spring clamp, and use Molybdenum anti seize grease.
2. A broken strut suspension coil spring.
3. A dry idler arm shaft bushing.

How to cange front shocks.?

Raise and support the car safely and remove the front wheels. Undo the clip holding the brake line to the strut. Loosen the bolts holding the strut to the steering knuckle. Before removing them, remove the strut mount tower bolts under the hood. Then remove the other bolts, the entire strut assembly will slide out. You can either install a complete new strut and spring assembly (more expensive), or you can use a coil spring compressor to remove the spring from the old strut and install it on a new strut (less expensive but a lot more work, and you must have access to a spring compressor). Make sure when installing the spring that it is aligned correctly on the new strut. Also, you should replace the strut mounts with new ones. Be aware that a compressed spring is very dangerous, so be sure to follow the instructions for the spring compressor. Re-install the strut assembly. Make sure that the knuckle bolts and strut mount bolts are torqued to spec.

How can i fix stiff steering on my bmw 316i

Assuming you have power steering, check fluid level in power steering system.
Check that the power steering pump belt has not fallen off.
Tires that are nearly bald can make the steering effort higher.
Do you have wheels that are not made for this car that have the wrong offset?
Check the strut bearings to see if they are frozen. Look under the front fenders while someone else turns the steering wheel. The strut and spring should turn with the wheel. If the top of the spring does not turn, then the strut bearings need to be replaced.

Roaring noise in front of vehicle that gets progressively worse as car excellerates on highway. No noise sitting still.

Check you tires, if they are wearing ok. If they appear ok, then a front wheel bearing may be bad. To verify which one, raise the front wheels off the ground (or just one) put the trans in neutral, and spin the wheel, now put one hand on the strut spring, if the bearing is bad you will feel roughness through the spring. If it feels OK, then try the other side. You should be able to feel a difference comparing both sides. It should be SMOOTH.

Steering issues: i can feel a binding/clunking in the steering wheel of my 2007 chrysler sebring as i turn left or right, stop, and at accelerating? i do not know WHAT this is and have had extensive work...

Did they replace entire strut & spring assy, with new, or just do struts? Feel where spring of strut sits on strut base at bottom & see if you can feel piece of thin rubber between spring & base of strut, or if spring is up against the edge of the base (seat). Sometimes I've seen the rubber between them move and cause spring to rub up against the seat or base of strut, (meatl on metal) especially when turning.
