Discovery1 immobiliser problem

Hi i have the usual problems with my disco diesel one, 1998 model , I have replaced the immobilliser with a Rimmers bypass, but, if I take the key out , and lock doors ,when I come back I still get the flashing car sign on the dash panel and it will not start until I get out , lock doors with key fob , unlock ,lights flash, then starts fine, I wont to get rid of the fob altogether as I do not want this problem miles from home, i much prefer every thing to be manual, is the problem in the anti theft system , is so can I just block it off.regards peter.

SOURCE: anti-theft won't deactivate

does the luck and won't start come at same time?
actually there is not way to get rid of the antitheft but if you have two keys for htis car try using only one key some time copies just disprogram the system and if you can't do anything i will recomend you to call a mobile locksmith guy they have the machine to reprogram your key and it is so much shiper than towing it to dealer and pay their crazy prices

SOURCE: 1994 cadillace anti theft system

I just had this same problem with a '96 . do you have a vats key in your '94? you need to bypass the VATS system. read some of the blogs on this site and it will tell you how to do it. I fixed mine with a $2 resistor from radio shack.

SOURCE: Car won't start - anti-theft light flashing

it sounds like the immobilizer is faulty. this will shut off the electrical feed to the starter motor. you will need to take it to a garage to get this fixed.

hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1997 ES 300 How to reset anti-theft system when car won't start

With the doors shut, insert the key into the drivers door lock. Lock and unlock the door 5 times. This should reset the system. If that doesn't work you should contact a qualified repair shop.

How to disconnect immobilliser on a land rover discovery 2001

Engine immobiliser must be disabled by a Rover TedtBook. Most likely only your local dealer will be so equipped. There are ways to work around or through thus common isssue. Be sure youve done the following before dropping the bucks at the dealer:
Replace batteries in your remote
Resync remote (instructions in your owners manual)
Try resetting the alarm ECM by disconnecting negative battery cable, turn ignition to second position, leave drivers door open, then reattach your negative lead, shut the hood, get in the drivers seat, turn off the ignition then attempt starting. Hoid and drivers door must be shut when you attempt to turn it over.
Last but not least therd is the EKA procedure. Step by step instructiona available on this and many other sites. Google "EKA procedure" adding your model and year in the search box.
Good luck. Feel free to message me directly if you are unable to find the instructions.

We recently changed the ecu on our vectra 1.8ls 2002 it started and ran fine for 10mins then then stopped,i think the immobilliseron all the time, how can i take immobilliser off

easy way is to join the immobiliser wires they work like a toggle switch otherwise replace distributor just be sure not to connect the imob wires to distributor. worth tracing wires to distributor should be one wire in and one coming out of distributort to immobiliser (not to coil or battery) cut and join them immobiliser is off then. Make sure you leave enough wire in case its not the problem so you can just wire back to normal.

Alarm system in my 95 vw golf

if i remember right these golfs were immobilised by a transponder which is built into your original key and the circuits that are immobillised are the starter motor wire which can be bypassed and the other one is to the fuel pump relay but the loom goes straight to underneath the back seat , so you need to get a live to the fuel pump by some means !

your best bet is dropping the drivers side fuse box which is held by about four screws and then there is a plastic latch at each side that you just flick up by hand and then the fuse box can be lifted off its brackets in an upwards motion !

just pray that its not a factory immobilliser which is fitted because you will see where the immobilliser cuts are all made at the back of the fusebox which will make it so much easier to solder the original coloured wires together to get the car started .

and yep i have worked on this car many times and ripped my hair out over the original transpoder immobilliser bypass lol !

Diesel engine wont start will turn over problem has been narrowed down to immobilizer, is it possible to bypass immobilizer in diesel injector pump?

i had this problem and again it was narrowed down to the immobiliser. however it wasnt exactly the immobiliser it was the immobiliser coil. it sits around the key slot and it is the radio part that check the chip inside the key. got mine replaced and it starts first time every time now. it cost £35 to replace.
