You may have a short in one of your tail lights unplug one and see if the fuse blows if so plug in light and unplug second light and see if fuse blows in not start your search at the plug for that light. you may find the light it self may be faulty

My tail light not working

Which light?
One light not working? Check the bulb.
Both tail lights not working? Check the fuses and the bulbs.
Brake light (or lights) not working? Check the bulb, fuses and brake light switch.
Totally no lights in one or both tail light assemblies? Check the plugs on the light assemblies from inside the car. Check the fuses. Check the grounds (might be some under the dash for those lights).

Tail light fuse keeps blowing

you have a rubber through wire under the chassis near the shock mount or a bad tail light socket. this is very common on these have fixed alot of them. need to chase the wire harness that runs along the chassis an inspect really good. also if you have trailer wiring give it a good look too.

let me know if you have any more question or if you need a diagram for it i can only fax them but if you have a fax i would be happy too. let me know

2004 Mazda Rx-8 When I was fixing the cable

Make sure to check all fuses under the hood and inside the car. If there was a short then a fuse, fuses or fusible links is shot. Check the big fuses or circuit breakers. Remove them, one at a time and check for continuity with an ohmeter; you can also touch one side to the positve battery pole and test the other side for power with the test light connected to ground. Let me know what you come up with.
