How in the world did those wires burn....Was it an under hood fuel leak fire....if it was electrical, some fuses should have blown before that kind of damage occurred....Were you jumping it off trying to crank it.....Were you trying to install a stereo......What happened prior to the fire?????
The problem is most likely a short/breach somewhere in the line. If the fuse hasn't blown, make sure you are using the proper size fuse to prevent damage to wiring in hard to reach places. Some fuses will naturally run hot depending on the application. If this is an automobile, check under moving parts like electric seats for a cut or exposed wire.
sorry (just 1 wire or the whole car burned to ground, ?)
the question is????
answer, replace them.
or ask any electric shop to do it. any can, tell them you want heat shink job. if the connectors burned up. then??? bad news.
no photos, no joy, damage has no limits, only EYES work.
Not "hopeless." Find a Nissan dealer and replace the harness to engine. Had this happen to a Caddy and replaced harness to fix problem after replacement of parts that caused the fire.
The fusible links probably fused or melted during the fire. They may be in wiring that looks totally fine but the copper wire elsewhere down the line that was exposed to the fire transfered the heat up to the fusible links and they melted. Look for them to be close to the battery, spliced into the main wires that go to the underhood fuse box.
You may be correct about the fusible link. Replacing a blown fuse without finding and repairing the reason it blew only leads to more problems and possible severe damage to wiring harnesses. Fuses are NEVER the CAUSE of an electrical problem. Blown fuses are ALWAYS the RESULT of an electrical problem. I would recommend taking the vehicle to someone who has access to the wiring diagrams and the proper equipment necessary to repair your electrical system. A blown 60 Amp fuse is nothing to play with. That fuse gave up it's life to stop your vehicle from burning to the ground. Please don't make it die in vain...car fires are never pretty!
THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE GOING TO STARTER.WILL CAUSE ELECTRICAL FIRE IF SHORTS TO GROUND.IF ALL ELECTRICAL WIRING BEEN BURN UP THIS IS A EXPENSIVE FIX.IF YOU HAVE FULL COVERAGE CAR INSURANCE.THEY WILL PROBABLY TOTAL THE CAR IF DAMAGE COST MORE VALUE OF CAR.THEY WILL HELP YOU FIND SAME CAR TO REPLACE IT
IF CAR TOTAL.YOU GOING HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER ONE.ITS GOING TO COST MORE THAN WHAT THE CAR IS WORTH TO FIX IT .FIRE DESTROYED. ENGINE AND BODY ALL THE WIRING.
Well, If the wiring is all that you burned, then all you need to do is basically replace the engine harness and depending on where the fire is, you may have to rewire sensors or replace sensors with the second option of replacing being the safer option of not causing problems. If you are looking for used parts, you can go to http://car-part.com/ otherwise you can buy from the local jeep dealer who will have diagrams that you can look at to help figure out where everything goes if you get lost. I'm not sure what all burnt, but a new harness can be costly, and hopefully the computer is fine. What exactly got burned besides the wiring?
Anyway good luck and let me know if you have any questions during the repair
