There are 2 wires that i've heard i can just cut and splice back together with the other ignition and it should work.

Try turning the ignition key on to the run position but do not start it leave it this way for aprox 10 minutes. The security light should do something after this amount of time. For example if it is flashing it will go off or stay on some cars are different then others. What this is doing is relearning the key resistance. If it does not work the first time try it again. It sometimes takes several tries.

A common thing to fial on these- assumning the grid is ok, and wires are still attched to grid, is the rear def / antenna module. It is behind rt. rear quarter trim panel. The modules burn up, and also melt the connector. the module and connector would need to be replaced.

the most common cause of this is the key, to check this use another working key, if the problem persists the ignition lock cylinder sensor is defective and the lock cylinder must be replaced, the dealer will need to do this as the security system must be re-programed to accept the new key code.
