Question about 1998 Volvo S70
Jump started car. Battery was dead .jumper cables where put on wrong post. Jumper cables melted. Put new battery in won't start . Only when you put a booster charger on then car will start. Maybe master fuse link? Where is it? 1998 s70 none turbo.

First off, now, check the large fuses in the box on the fender. That is hopefully why nothing works now. If not, you may have REALLY messed something up. That is what they are for though, and should have caught the zap. If you get everything back where you can turn the motor over, and it still will not start, try to reset the security lock down. Put the key in the door and lock/unlock 5 times. It should start then.

it sounds like you have blown fuse to the Alternator.. I don't know what car you are talking about but they charging systems vary.. But if alternator isn't getting all the power it needs it won't charge. this should be checked.
