My 95 Jeep YJ with 60,000 original miles has had a problem with headlights and dash lights turning off afer the bright have been illuminated. If we don';t use the brights the lighting system works fine. My neighbor just bought a 95 yj and has the same problem. What is the solution to this problem?

Thanks I had done all that a long time ago. Someone else suggested replacing both headlamps and that fixed it fine.

2005 Jeep Cherokee Overland 5.7 Hemi will not turn over after changing

sounds like battery. when a car battery dies it is dead wasting time trying to recharge it.. Turn headlights on bright, turn heater blower motor on high watch lights, do the stay bright or start dimming. Try to start car with lights on are the going dim. If the headlights do not remain bright while starting car it is battery.

Wiring diagram 89 yj no power to dash when key is on. turn key will not start

Autozone.com has free diagrams in the repair section. You will have to register but that is also free.
Do you still have headlights, interior lights, any thing have power inside? If so you may just have a dead ignition switch.

95 Jeep Wrangler YJ...No heat, temp at about

It should be 200 degrees. If your running cold the only thing that regulates temp is the thermostat. If it is indeed 150 degrees thats why you have no heat.

If you replaced the water pump and the radiator for this condition then it was a waste of money. If you had a water pump or radiator problem it would overheat.

The fact that your blowing cold air tells me the that you really are 150 degrees or the heater core is plugged.

95 wrangler yj. has no power at high speeds

Have you had fuel pressure tested, and/or filter changed. Have you checked for plugged exhaust, such as catalytic converter? Quite often engine will also run a little hotter than normal when exhaust is plugged.

"maintenance required" light is stuck on in 1991 Jeep Wrangler

On the dim dashlights, there is usually a rotory switch that you can turn to increase the power to the dash lights. In earlier vehicles it was part of the headlight switch and you just turned it one way or the other to adjust the brightness. In newer vehicles it is a switch like a knob sticking out of the dash on its side that you push up or down to change the brightness of the lamps.

The Maintenance Required light is probable on because the vehicle has hit the 50,000 mile mark and it comes on automatically so that you take the vehicle in for maint. of the emission system. If this is the case there is usually a way to reset it untill another 50,000 miles go by. I would read the owners manual, or better yet pickup a Chilton manual for the vehicle and see if it says how to reset the light. You also may want to have the vehicle checked to see if any trouble codes have been signaled. Good Luck, RAC

Headlights went out & dash lights went on brighter

That can be a whole lot of things causing this but first if you have an aftermarket remote starter unhook it first to see if the problem resolves it's self, also there are fuses for the headlights check these, another thing to check is have the alternator check as one that puts out to much voltage will blow fuses and make dash lights really bright, autozone can check these for free anything over 14 volts the alternator regulater has went out .

Headlights

You could have 2 bad headlight bulbs.
You have to check the fuses for your dash lights.
