SOURCE: 2000 Pontiac Grand AM trouble code P0300

Im surprised that didn't fix it. On the Quad4 engine its usually a cracked coil housing.
Have you checked:

  • fuel injectors / fuel pressure
  • coolant temp sensor
  • compression - to check for bad head gasket
  • ignition control module
  • EGR system - make sure the valve isn't stuck
  • crank position sensor.
The crankshaft position system variation compensating values are stored in the PCM non-volatile memory after a learn procedure has been performed. If the actual crankshaft position system variation is not within the crankshaft position system variation compensating values stored in the PCM, DTC P0300 may set.

SOURCE: no spark from the coil packs

Check the wiring and make sure your getting 12V to the module (under the coil packs) when the ignition key is turned on. If you have 12V then ohmmeter the coils. The primary side is like .5-1.5 ohms and the secondaries are in the 7500 ohm neighborhood. If all this checks out OK the module would be the culprit.

spark plug gaps are very critical on computerised cars!! [some wont even start!]
distributor module may be breeaking down as temp rises they fail!
otherwise do compression check as it may have valve problems
also check plug leads & injectors aswell as the fuel pump pressure [ could bestarving for fuel]

Do I have to remove the gas tank to inspect/change the fuel pump on a 1991 pontiac grand prix?

Unfortunately, yes. It's a pain. I own a 1991 Pontiac grand prix SE 3.1L.

My fuel pump problem started when I ran out of gas (gas gauge was offset) Of course it shuts off w/o gas but it will more likely kill your fuel pump and clog the $#!t out of your filter.

If it makes a buzzing sound under the vehicle w/o the engine running, near the trunk area, replace it along with the filter.

No spark at the plugs replaced ignition pack but no results thisis a 1992 pontiac sunbird 2.0l se

electric ignition module is bad, or maybe the safety shutdown relay, also check to see if the timing belt has snapped, it happened to me, lol replaced plugs, wires, coil, ignition module, and turned out to be the timing belt had snapped causing the safety shutdown relay to shut off power to the coil and fuel pump, good luck :)

My 1991 pontiac sunbird is leaking antifreeze. It

Age of vehicle determines that you get a replacement hose and clips first. Drain down the Coolant into a container, replace the hose, and refill, remembering you are going to loose coolant by spillage on the drain down.

My starter stuck on even after shutting car off...

It sounds like it shorted out internaly. If the started is covered with oil then it is highly likely that is your culprit.

Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing

You have a wire shorted to ground. Pull it back down and check all the wires.

Car stalls out while running

It sounds like it's not getting enough fuel to the engine if it stalls when you let up off the gas pedal but stays running with your foot on the gas it sounds like you need a new fuel pump and or fuel filter for the car.I can almost garantee thats part of the problem
