SOURCE: Power steering pump pulley removal

Go to your local auto parts retailer and buy or rent a power steering pulley puller. They usually run about $39 to do either, but since you probably will not use it much, why add another dusty tool to your box? If you rent it, the $39 is usually just a fully refundable security deposit, so you basically get to use it for free. Most of the pullers usually consist of a two section fixture that slips over the hub of the pulley, then a nut and a long shaft bolt are threaded through, and a sleeve goes over the assembly. You then turn the nut to back off the pulley. The kit should also include the installation tool, which consists of a bolt that you thread into the shaft of the pump and a nut and washer that you turn to slowly press the pulley on to the shaft. It is easier to do this job with the pump out of the car, with the pump clamped on your bench, but can be done with the pump on the car. Just be prepared to lose some skin and blood if you are not wearing gloves. The pulley is made of phenolic resin, formerly known as bakelite, and will break or chip easily, so be careful. Although the temptation will be strong to whack it with a hammer, don't give in. You can easily damage the new pulley and the pump itself.

SOURCE: I need to replace water pump on 1995 Chrysler Le Baron

This will take some digging. You would be money ahead to go to a parts store and buy a haynes or chilton manual for 20 dollars. The waterpump is ran by the timing belt, so you will want to replace that to. You also need to know how to line the timing marks up to get the belt back on right. The manual will give you all the info you need.

My 1992 Chrysler Lebanon is overheating and don't know why? And it's not the water pump

Do this while the car is stone dead cold. Remove the radiator cap that is on the radiator(press down turn left), not the plastic reservoir. See if you can fill the radiator and by how much. If it takes more than a cup you have a weak spring on the cap and an inadequate amount of fluid while it is running to cool the engine.. Replace the cap. Refill it. Problem's gone. Look at the inside of the radiator as well. Is it gunked up? Flush it or replace it. Is the fan active...etc. Good luck.

On my 1994 Chrysler Le Baron, I have coolant leaking from the pipe that the lower rad. hose is connected to.(It then appears to run under the manifold to the front of the engine) The coolant runs out onto...

more than likely if all hoses are good it is probally the return hose behind the water pump that is very hard to see and sometimes you need to remove the water pump to get to it good luck

I have a 1994 chrysler concorde and it leaks behind the water pump on a part connected to the block my 5/8 heater hose wont connect to that part becuase it broke off due to deteriation

Replace the water pump. It is probably leaking due to the gasket in between the water pump and the block. When you buy a water pump at the parts store, they will make sure you have the right water pump gasket.

1994 jeep cherokee

changing that pump is not all that difficult. Make sure you draw a picture of where the belt goes and just carefully remove anything in your way Loosen the bolts that hold the pulley & fan by leaning on the belt to keep it from turning, before removing the belt and make certain that you have removed all gasket material from old pump that remains on the block. Belt tension is controlled by an adjustment of the power steering pump.Any problems with install can be answered right here...It's far from a complex operation. I recommend that if it overheated, that you change thermostat as well.

Water pump

A manual will have pictures and everything.
Just replaced mine. Five bolts in bracket holding tension idler, A/C compressor (if applicable) and power steering pump must be removed to access 3 bolts in water pump. Just push aside enough to access remaining bolts. Email at [email protected] if additional info is needed. Also, diagram serpentine belt before removing. Took me at least 15 attempts and 20 minutes to figure out
