This car has had a rough idol for a long time and I am aware that the throttle body will need replacement. This is the first time the car has turned off on its own at an idol. This car has 103,000 miles on it and all required maintenance has been performed(oil change, transmission flush, timing kit, oil sensor, crankshaft position sensor)

try haviing your alternator checked advance auto parts can check it while its on the car and the can check the battery too. if thats not it it may stall due to a loose battery connection or a loose ground strap. if it stalls and everything turns of (electrical) it may be a connection or ground strap.

I have a 1998 Dodge Neon and sometimes when i go to start my car it will die or not start at all. We have to hit on the gas tank to get it to start. What could this be?

It sounds like your torque converter is draining when it sits. Would need to replace the torque converter if this is the case.

the computer may need to be reflashed. if it is running then it is not a bad sensor. either of those being bad would cause it not to run.
