After driving for a while and i have to come to a stop or put car in park car idles at 1.5 to 2.0 rpms checked for vaccumm leaks and found none also replaced iac valve and it still idles high what else could it be. this is a1996 ford taurus 24 valve duratech motor
The setting of the idling must be wrong. try this... at first you start the engine, wait till it gets hot then start lowering the idle in the normal rpm. this will sure work. hope this helps

WHAT YEAR AND ENGINE????
High RPMs are indicative of a vacuum leak, an improperly set minimum stop screw, a defective idle air controller, a bad intake manifold gasket, or a cracked intake manifold.
Less likely, especially if there is no CHECK ENGINE light illuminated, the ECU may be defective.
Sounds like you have another Vacum Leak, What is this thing idleing speed AT...?????? Vacum Leak Cause high Fast Idel...so i would check futher into more leaks
Vacume leak or bad idle motor. With the car in park and running with the hood open listen for leaks moving your hand around the different hoses looking for a change in the sounds that you hear. The idel motor also makes the car idel up to 1500 RPM or so right at start-up then idel down, If it doesn;t the idel motor is likly. Check engine light is on when running? Test for codes, Follow code test charts don't skip any steps!.
the pcv is under the intake manifold on backside if it is leaking it can cause a high idle but i would check th ecar over for vacuum leaks as this is common as well
