Where is the oil sending unit on a 2007 pt cruiser

I have an oil leak. I have checked valve cover gaskets, oil filter leakage and just a visual overlook under the car. I don't know where the oil sending unit is located. Can you help?

On the right rear side of the engine. You can reach it from the top if you have long arms and it's usually a 27mm deep socket. Otherwise you'll have to remove the batter and air box to get some more leeway. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Where is BCM located on 2002 PT Cruiser locks working even when car is not on have been told to check BCM don't know where to find it

I don't find a body control module for your car, but according to the wiring diagram the door locks are controlled by a keyless entry module which is located on top of the dash behind the ac vents.
There are three fuses that power the module.
Check with your dealer for more details.

2003 pt cruiser dripping engine oil..where could it be from?

Dripping is not a good sign. That could be a lot of oil being lost, the usual places to check are the oil pan plug and filter to make sure they are not loose. If they are not leaking then you need to start checking gaskets on the oil pan and valve covers, dip stick and oil cap, and sending unit. If they are not leaking then you are looking at main seals inside the engine.

What would cause the oil to build up on valve cover gasket center bolt 2004 PT Cruiser 4.0l engine?

I'm pretty sure Chrysler never put a 4.0L engine in a PT Cruiser (V6? V8?). And since the valve cover gasket is located between the valve cover and the cylinder head, there is no bolt that holds just the valve cover gasket in place - all the bolts hold the valve cover in place. If there is excess oil around one of those bolts, you have a break in the gasket (or a bad gasket if the gasket is for the bolt only) or the bolts are not tightened to specification.

Valve cover gasket

If the valve cover is leaking oil onto the spark plugs and wires, then yes, replace the gaskets. Otherwise you have other ignition issues.

Pt cruiser is using a quart of oil every 100 miles

Should be a leaking oil pressure switch.
First, check to oil filter, area to see if the oil is obviously coming out around the filter. Filter and area around it should be dry,.
There has been rare instance of the "o-ring" on the top of the oil filter sticking to the engine when the filter was changed, and the new oil filter then won't seal because there are now 2 gaskets between the filter and the engine block.
Check the engine drain plug. Is it loose or stripped? That area should also be clean and dry.
The valve cover gasket should be clean and dry all the way around.
Most common cause for that much oil use is the oil pressure switch, should be leaking with the motor running.

Bad oil leak in 2001 ot cruiser

A couple of leaks can be fairly large. An Oil Pan leak where you will see oil seeping down the sides of the pan and dripping directly below. The other is a Rear Main Bearing Seal leak and the oil will be coming from where the engine meets the transmission.

check for a leaking oil pan gasket. or a leaking oil filter. the oil pump is inside of oil pan. good-day! and also check the valve cover gaskets out.

2003 pt cruiser, seems like oil is coming out of one of the spark plug wires where the engine is

The valve cover gaskets needs to be replaced, you can try to tighten up the valve cover bolts if it has gone loose. But that's may just slow the leak, so replacing the valve cover gasket would be the best thing to do, Auto Zone carries the gasket you need and can give you the step by step instructions to get the job done with common tools. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to answer any more questions you may have.

Engine oil problem

Whoa! Never remove the oil filter while the motor is running. Alot of vehicles have valve cover leakage and it is easily repaired with a new valve cover gasket. It is completely normal for the dipstick to be dry until the motor is off and all oil has drained from the upper compartments of the engine including the area where the oil lubricates the valve guides. Most mechanics will place the vehicle on a completely level area and then wait 15 minutes or so after the motor is off to check the oil. The dipstick will always show that you have low oil if you check it while the motor is running as the oil is elsewhere doing it's job. If you replace your valve cover gasket be sure to not overtighten and tighten in a random crisscross pattern so that you have uniform pressure all along the gasket. There are torque guides for this and you can usually get them from your local parts house. Buy a good torque wrench also.
