SOURCE: 3 liter mazda mpv overheating

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.

If you have not get it done by pros.

It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.

Check and see also if the heater valve is working.

As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.

My Mazda MPV 1995 is overheating. I have changed the thermostat and fklushed the radiator. The water pump seems fine. Of note is the bottom hose going to the thrmostat is cold. Does this mean the water...

Nornally the hose will warm up but not hot with a circulating system. the therostae could be installed upside down or be bad. You should install a therostate with a asprin holding it open to circulate the coolant till the cooling system is full and the asprim will disolve as it soaks in the coolant. the air will ciculatre to the top and out and the systrem will be full. the stat will work corectly after the asprim is gone. with air around the stast it might not open and therefore overheat.

My Mazada 2000 MPV seems to be overheating when driving at a high speed or going up hill. The egine smeels hot but none of the gauges are showing as overheating.

Check coolant level. if its ok than ride. If from expansion cap coming some flush or many many coolant aut check thermostat and check cooling fan system is sensor ok and relay.
