I have a 2001 Chevy Silverado 5.3 and my O2 htr and evap monitors won't complete cycle. Need help please.

i had the same problem, and it turned out the coil pack was moulding inside wich stopped the spark all together, i ended up changing my coil pack and putting on new wires because the ends connected to the coil were very corroded and that cures the not running part just fine

Usually a .5-1hr. ride will be enough time for the heated O2 sensor monitor. If not, by the next day, after it warms up and taken for a spin. The Heated O2 sensor should be out of default. The EVAP monitor will take up to 2wks. How long has it been? What have you replaced so far? What have you tested and checked? Does your engine shutter and misfire? Sometimes the O2 sensor will fail in such a way that it blows a fuse under the hood. Please write back with more details and I will do my best to help. Good Luck.

O2 and evap will not reset to ready on a 2007 Buick terazza. Temp sensor and purge valve have been replaced

As far as resetting, have you tried a drive cycle. I'm talking about monitor running to completion. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree?

Changed head gasket, now won't start.

I would need to know the actual code numbers to comment, but in general those components would not keep the engine from starting.
Have you checked compression, spark and fuel pressure ?

you mean the vent hose, right. it should be on back side of tank. there is a kit you can buy to relocate it, were it dosent take in as much dust and plug. let me know if i can help further.

98 chevy astro changed egr and catalytic con and airfilter,gas cap,and0n the obd2 scan tool it shows no trouble codes it shows catalitic inc and evap inc.

I think your scan tool is showing that the monitors
for the Evap System have not run yet,thus incomplete

The evap will only run every few days & only if driven
for some time.

The O2 Sensor Data should be on the scan tool

I would replace the front ones if they have 100,000
miles on them

I would look at short term fuel trim also,most likely
it will be 3 or 4 % Pos or Neg & Switching

An Oscilloscope is the only way to look at an O2 Sensor
as far as I have found. A volt meter is a waste of time & won't
give you switching counts in real time

The Converter won't be complete until it warms up to
at least 850 deg or more

the evap system and o2 sensor are two different systems and they self test at different times evap runs more after cold start up the monitors run best from a cold start up and drive 50mph steady for 10 miles

The O2 heater is part of the O2 sensor itself. You would need to replace the oxygen sensor if the heater is an issue.

2 monitors are showing "not

You need to replace your O2 sensor, that should clear pretty fast-does it switch slowly (talking about the upstream O2 sensor)?

-as to the evap, on some cars they won't test unless the tank is between 1/4 and 3/4 full for an extended period of time, but you might just need a gas cap.

My 2000 Saturn did not pass inspection due to evap. and O2 sensors "Not Ready". How can I fix the problem or how can the problem be fixed?

What is the EVAP code?

The O2 are not ready because it takes some time for them to complete there self check after clearing trouble codes. This will involve a few drive cycles. Once the evap problem has been resoled, the check engine light cleared, you'll have to drive it for a couple of days to get everything in the "ready" status.
