SOURCE: car alarm

Not really a solution, sorry. But, my 93 celica had the same problems as your having now. Mine just worked when it wanted to. I had to end up having someone check it out. They basically said "Who the hell hooked up your alarm?" I have no clue, I figured it came like that, but I guess someone took it out and redid it. That may be your problem. Unhook your alarm or take it in and just ask someone.

Do you have a sound system? Most...as my previous owned did, like to somehow hook the sound system with the alarm. But of course when he sold me the car he took the system..leaving the alarm to go haywire.

SOURCE: i lost my keys for toyota celica 1996 year,i had

Look under the steering column ,now normally on an after market alarm installation ther should be bunsh on wire tied up with plastic zip-ties --looks like a mess , and in that a mess look for a square relay about 1" sq. Unplug that. That will isolate the alarm system.Good Luck

System could have been reset by using valet key. Battery could have power, but not enough to operate system. Was there a battery problem at any time?

SOURCE: can not lock car by key remote . toyota rav 4 53 plate

If your car has an alarm with a separate remote, it is a separate system and it is probably self-arming. When you lock the doors with the key central lock, the alarm gets armed by the RAV4 being OFF and the door locking action. When you unlock the doors with the key, the alarm is still armed because the key is not comunicating with the alarm just the cars factory keyless system.

I cant seem to get my factory alarm to reset on my 1996 toyota corolla. i tried unhooking battiery, and i tried to turn ket 5 times from off to run but not to start . i tried putting key in door then lock...

If you have a push button key or remote try locking it then unlocking it. If that isn't applicable try using the key on all the locks on the outside of the car, do the same, lock then unlock all the locks including the trunk. How long did you leave the cables off the battery. And did you pull both cables off or just one? Security systems sometimes had circuits that ground out separately and had large capacitors capable of sustaining power along with the Safety Restraint System for a matter of minutes. Sometimes computers won't reset until after 20-30 minutes with no power.
I am also assuming your issue is that the alarm is gong off and that you are not having a security light on the dash, with a no start issue, or an issue with the security code for the radio.

Hello, Please help! My 1996 Mustang Gt car alarm wont let the car start. any suggestions? Ericf

use the key to lock and then unlock the drivers door then try to start if it still doesnt start then go to pass/side door and lock and unlock it and then try to start the switch on the drivers door may be bad, if this is a factory alarm system, if its aftermarket then you will need to locate the reset button under the dash, this will be a small red push type button, you will have to turn key on and push button in four times quickly, also are you sure its the alarm? it may be a bad battery or starter but start with the directions i gave first and let me know if it doesnt work make sure to relist the problem. good luck.

I just bought a 1996 jeep grand cherokee larado, I locked the doo while inside with electric lock switch on door. I then opened the door with the handle. the alarm went off which I did not know it had. I...

lock with key, electric door lock button,or remote and alarm will set. to disarm you have to use the key or remote to open it.the reason it woulnt disarm from drivers door is either the door lock cylinder switch is broken or the wire to it in the rubber boot that connects the door and the body is broken.
the remotes are cheap and programing is easy, procedure in owners manuel something like lock drive door with elkect. lock switch with door open then push and hold unlock untill doors unlock then turn key off.you may have to fix that drive door lock cyl.switch first though mabee not dont know for sure

Two days ago my 2004 toyota corolla s starting honking a little bit when I turn the key as well as the doors are automatically locking and unlocking when I turn the key on and off...

Check your remote to see that it isn't setting off the alarm. If the battery is dying on the remote, this could happen. If not, have alarm checked.

Does not cherp

Is your perhaps alarm in "valet mode"? I've got a Checkmate on my Honda, and I can turn valet mode on/off by putting the key to Accessory, then pushing the black button under the left of the steering wheel. The alarm chirps when you switch the mode.

1996 toyota corolla won't start

Try your fuse panel. You must have blown the ignition fuse when replacing the starter.
