My 2000 dodge neon wont start its not the battery i have put a new battery in it but it still wont crank over what could this be ?

Most likely starter motor sticking

wont crank or wont start ??? big difference

no start, check ignition module or asd relay
no crank, check everything from battery to ignition switch to cables to fuses

The contacts and the plate assembly may be damaged. Better to replace it with a new one.

did the check engine light tell you there was a pcm fault or something else before you did the swap? Alot of things can cause a no start. A bad crank position sensor(CKP) cam position sensor(CMP) fuel pump. My brother-in-law did that to a dynasty and turned out to be a broken wire on the CKP circuit.

You just proved that the cam belt has skipped time. That is the procendure to check. Remove the covers and line up the marks and you'll see your problem. while you have the belt off put on a new one as it should'nt skip unless it's worn out.

any neon almost has a security system some times it will trip try using the key to un lock the door that will reset the system then start if nothing try the fuses under the hood one is bound to blow and wont let u start the car

2000 dodge neon cranks but wont start, but if i unplug the cam sensor it will run for a second

I have a 2000 dodge neon and it wont start the fuel injector are not spraying all 4 spark plugs are dry but the fuel pump is working when I start the car and push the fuel rail button to see if I am getting fuel it sprays but the injector are not I put a new relay in and fuse and nothing help me..................

put a voltmeter on the the starter wires..if there is power then try turning the motor with a ratchet..it if wont turn then them motor is locked down

look everyone !!! i am not the only one who has this problem , but I found the answer on my own.... iI hope this can help others . If you have to replace a neon engine you must do these thing if you want it to start.

Lower vehicle and perform camshaft and
crankshaft timing relearn procedure as follows:
² Connect the DRB scan tool to the data link
(diagnostic) connector. This connector is located in
the passenger compartment; at the lower edge of
instrument panel; near the steering column.
² Turn the ignition switch on and access the “miscellaneous”
screen.
² Select “re-learn cam/crank” option and follow
directions on DRB screen

Most people don't have access to this scanner <but it must be done> I used a snap-on cost 3000 but have the reset feature
