MOTOR AND GEARS FOR THE DRIVER'S SEAT
Did you try a pick-a-part junkyard ?
They have old wrecked cars, you go there tell'em what you need, they quote you a price, (pay a nominal fee to get in usually,) then you go and walk the lot looking for your car, and see if it still has an undamaged front seat. You have to dis-assemble and remove the part yourself. Usually there are no refunds if you install it and it does not work, so with electronic parts you take a bit of a risk.
the next time anything major fails on my '99 Grand Prix I will likely have to do the same.

Remove the 3 screws in the plastic sheilding on each side of the seat (front corner, middle side and back corner (under a little bit of carpet)). This will make it easier to get to the four bolts that hold the seat cushion base to the motor frame. There are a handful of electrical connections running from the base to the seat and then to other points (2 to the seat belt area, 1 to the base of the seat and 2 to the bottom of the seat frame near the right rear corner). None of these will prevent the motors from operating.
