My 06 chevy silverado was stuck in a puddle and water went in the tailpipe. By the time I was pulled out, it would not start and I had to jump in several times to get it to start. When started water came gushing out the tailpipe and now it is making a ticking noise and bogs a little. I've checked to make sure water wasn't in the oil or tranny. I've removed the cover to the fuse box to dry it out. It makes the ticking noise more on acceleration. What could be causing the noise and what can I do about it?

replace the front u joint. I had the same issue with my truck, and I noticed that the front u joint didn't come stock with a greese zerk, the oem replacement does so they wear out fast. by the time I found it, it still looked ok till I removed the drive shaft....It was very close to wearing through.

It sounds like u got a coil pack going out. Alot of times when your engine is cold or when you arn't putting a load on it the coils won't fail. How ever when the engine reaches operating temperatures and there is load on the coils that is when they are going to break down. my advice would be to get a scanner and see what cylinder the missfire is at then swwap that coil to another cylinder to verify that the coil is defective. If it is purchase another with a new spark plug put it in and let it rip.
