Even though this appears to be factory installed it is actually an addon module. It should be located near the fuse panel under the drivers side Dash board. You can remove the whole module and reconnect the two wiring harnesses at that point using the original already installed connectors. It was a simple design. It is installed where the harness from the engine compartment connects to the under dash harness.

You may have to "cycle" the ignition switch a few times to get fuel up to the fuel rails. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position (do not start yet). Listen to see if you can hear the fuel pump running. If you can hear it, turn the key of and wait about 15 seconds and turn the key to the RUN position again. Repeat this step one more time, the turn the ignition to START.
If you cannot hear the fuel pump running when you turn the key on, then you most likely lost your fuel pump when you ran out of gas. This is pretty common - especially if the fuel pump has a lot of miles on it. If this is the case, then you will have to replace your fuel pump.

Discussion: Late model vehicles are highly computer controlled to reduce emissions, maximize fuel economy and improve consumer comfort. The various control systems in vehicles are interrelated and controlled by multiple computers that constantly monitor vehicle performance through a myriad of sensors located throughout the vehicle. Based on information received, the computers adjust the vehicle performance through a series of valves, switches and motors. You must use a scanner to unlock the information stored in your car's computer.
Your Camaro is OBD II compliant.
You don't indicate any diagnostic tests to date. A dealer or your local mechanic will charge $100-$200 to perform a diagnostic scan of your Powertrain Control Module (aka PCM for GM, ECM and computer). However, AutoZone will provide a thorough scan for FREE.
All the best,
Ben
