More than likely (and we will hope) it is the oil sending unit. In comparison it is a very cheap and quick fix to replacing the oil pump. Auto Zone has a pretty good componet location section that has tips for replacement if you cant find the sending unit or the oil pump. Try that first it may save you a lot of work.

ive been workin on buicks for 10 years i know for sure that its the key, the gmc cars in the 90s came with a sercuity key to stop any chance of being stolen the keys cost from around 50.00$ to 80.00$ the best place to buy these would be at a buck dealership :)
