I have an 05 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 with 19018 miles. Truck will just shut off without any warning signs. The idle will also be erratic when coming to a stop; drops to 500rpm when at a stop. Has loss of power. With no check engine light.

Hmmm, I had same problem, but engine light flashed a code.....turn key on and off without starting, leave in the on position on third time, you will see codes come up if you have any where the milage is displayed. Mine turned out to be the EGR valve was stuck. Had it replaced at dealer, was lucky...under warranty.

YOU COULD BE HAVING ENGINE MISFIRE.DUE TO BAD SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES.ALSO DIRTY FUEL INJECTORS WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO ROUGH IDLE OR IDLE UP AND DOWN.PUT A BOTTLE OF FUEL INJECTOR CLEAN IN A FULL TANK OF GAS.ALSO CHANGE PLUGS AND WIRES.IF TRUCK HAS 30000 TO 60000 MILES ON IT.THATS THE SCHEDULE MAINTENCE INTERVALS IF SPARK PLUGS HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED.
Slide a large piece of cardboard under the truck after driving for ten minutes note in which area directly above the spot on the cardboard the oil is coming from then get under the vehicle with a drop light to look for the origin of the leak, if no leak is detected then it may be the engine is burning oil this could either be valve stem seals or broke or worn oil rings.
Sometimes a valve lifter will stick and cause a ticking it is possible that a valve lifter has lost its prime or it might be that the oil is too thin. Wthout more info my bet would be a lifter
