This is the best diagram that I could find, the firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and the ignition rotor rotation is counterclockwise.

Pistons 1-2-3-4 are front to back on the passenger side of the engine and 5-6-7-8 are front to back on driver's side. The distributor turns counter clockwise and #1 piston is the first on the driver's side of the clip at the back of the cap. The 2 clips should be at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock, standing at the front of the car. The firing order should be 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. I got this from Chiltons. Hope this helps.
