You need to take your car to a dealer to fix this issue, since it might be related to either a short or step motor not working correctly.

Probably sensors! I have already replaced the crankshaft positioning sensor once, nissan replaced it once under recall and now it is bad again! Plus my speed sensor is bad too! Go to any part store and get diagnostic test ran, it will tell what sensors are bad.

SOURCE: Auto transmission

Hey Nashua,

Your Clutch is messed up by what sound of it. You probably have to replace your clutch pretty soon. The car will not die on you when you are driving or anything like that but you should start saving some cash for that clutch replacement you are looking at about $600 to $800.

I have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer 6 cylinder the O/D light is flashing when I go over 45 miles could this mean that I have a bad transmission?

The O/D light flashing is to warn the driver an to suggest he or she take their vehicle to a qualified repair shop. It's telling you a transmission problem exists an fault code's are stored in the PCM/ECM or transmission control module . More then likely it's just a shift solenoid . Take an have code's read ,

2004 Ford Sportrac having problems with trans OD flashing on and off and sticking in gear?

When the Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) isn't engaging or locks in engagement the light flashes a warning...The TCC solenoid may stick due to dirty transmission fluid...If the Check Engine Light
(CEL) is not lit have your transmission fluid changed...If it is lit the code is probably pointing at a defective TCC, Computer (PCM) or the clutch itself... you can take the vehicle to an auto parts store and have them read and define the trouble code for free...saailer

My nissan maxima 2007 CVT transmission is running on low gear the check engine light comes on and it gives me code p1777. Can the fluid be low or can a faulty sensor be the problem.

Based on my experience on the Altima/Maxima CVT transmissions they have serious valve body issues. I'm sure that's not what you want to hear but the good news is there are fixes that work 75% of the time that do not require transmission removal or an new trans. Call some of your better trans shops in your area and take notes, see whom has the most knowledge. Hope this gets you on the right track.

2000 windstar airbag light is on on dash and horn

Hi Mamaberta7,
The OD light flashing is something you need to have checked using a scanner. Since this trans. was recently rebuilt, you want to get it checked soon. The transmission can default to full line pressure and this can cause damage. Also if the unit isn't locking up, it can cause the transmission to overheat.
The airbag light on and the horn not working are probably tied into the clock-spring. This is the most common concern with the symptom you have. Again, you can have the code pulled to confirm the problem or you can use a DVOM (Digital volt/ohm meter) and check for continuity through the clock-spring. If you want to check it yourself, let me know and I will get you the steps to down the system and the wiring diagram.
If you have any other questions, drop me a line. Thanks,Chuck

Transmission slipping

do u have any transmission trouble codes? u should if the OD light is flashing, the light flashes to alert u that a electronic malfunction is occurring in the trans controls, u may just have a bad trans connector or a shift solenoid starting fail due to a shorted field closing coil.

Gear Position light D4 is always flashing irrespective of gear.

This issue is caused by a transmission fault or malfunction, most likely a shift solenoid in the trans has failed or the trans control module has a problem, the trans can be tested for codes that will show what circuit or component of the trans controls is causing the light to stay blinking, have it tested.

1994 F350 transmission intermittent problem

I had the same problem in my 96 f-350. The transmission has slipped recording a slip code in the transmission. You can pull the codes and get it. I shifts into a safe mode that increases the pressure inside your transmission as part od a fail safe. Plain and simple, you have to have the tranny rebuilt.
