You will need to replace the window regulator assembly. Both of the cables should be tight. When is loose its because it has broken in the regulator. The cable regulators are a poor design.
it should go to the window motor or the power locks or the power window button. check window motor with a test light for 12 volts at the plug. check regulator/pulley system for a broke cable.
Problem number one sounds like a dead battery to me. Problem with driver door is the cable in your window regulator is broken and bound up. Will need to replace the regulator. Passenger side window problem could be caused by a number of things... most common that come to mind are window guide not in correct position or one of the bolts that hold the window to the regulator has come loose.
I have a Pontiac grand prix that my passenger rear window wont roll up, i need to get the window to close atleast temporarily until i can get the problem looked at. I have taken the door apart and tried pushing it up, but it wont go as much as i have tried. Any advise would be great right about now. thanks
