SOURCE: AC belt on 1999 Chrysler 300M

When you replace the AC belt you really should replace the serpentine belt as well, since you will have to take it off already. If you don't do it now it is inevitable that you will have to replace it in like 3 weeks anyway : )

You need to first remove the serpentine belt by loosening the nut in the center of the idler pulley. After that you will need to loosen the push bolt on the side of the idler pulley. The hub bolt is a 15mm size and the push bolt on the side of the tensioner is a 13mm I think. After you loosen it sufficiently, you will need to pull off the old belt.

Next you will need to loosen the tensioner pulley for the AC belt as well. It is the same process. The main issue is space. You will most likely need to raise your car to get at the right angles to loosen these pulleys.

Once you loosen the idler pulley in the same manner as you loosened the other, you can slip the AC belt onto the back of the crank pulley and route it as the diagram under your hood instructs you. Next tighten up the idler pully in the opposite way as you loosend it...tighten up the push bolt until the belt play is within factory specifications, then tighten the hub bolt in the center of the pulley. Do the same for the serpentine belt and you should be up and running in no time. I just performed these tasks on my 2000 300m and I wish someone would have told me this before I started my project. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

How hard is it to change a timing belt in a 99 chrysler 300m?

It's not a kinde of job that can do every one like change the tire. Change the timing belt can do only impressionist, if something is not properly in place can break the engine that will cost more.
Leave to make this work a impressionist.

Remove crankshaft damper 2000 chrysler 300m

If it is the timing belt you are replacing, wait a second while I explain:
The timing on this engine is SUPER critical. If you are off just ONE tooth you could ruin the engine. In back of the heads there are two cam covers- little triangular plates that seal off the cams and keep it from leaking. The covers are removed and a special tool made by Miller is bolted on each to align the timing when putting the belt back on. The crank is set at TDC and matched to the mark on the oil pump housing. Only then is the belt timing accurate when you put the new belt on. Then remove the special alignment tool and replace the covers. Don't try replacing the belt without this procedure.

I replaced timing belt and water pump, now the vehical will not start. What is the problem?

most likely you have the valve timing off. the dodge has a camshft sensor and a crankshaft sensor and if they are off eaven 1 tooth the engine will not start.

Driving and the timing belt broke can i just replace the belt? 2003 chrysler 300m

If the timing belt broke, than you heard a big banging noise from your engine and that is it, your valves met with pistons and they are more than likely to be bend, unfortunately this situation calls for engine recondition. But are you sure the belt broke as some of these 300M's were on a chain drive.
