That was a good suggestion by Molson. Also, if you have been doing a lot of heavy hauling, have them check the strainer, which could be a problem as well.
Best thing to do is get the truck scanned at a transmission shop. I good shop will not charge you much to have the truck's transmission scanned for any problems. It sounds like the revers servo is not working and you may have a TPS problem or transmission line pressure servo problem which may be causing your transmission not to change gears. Check the transmission fluid for level and condition, make sure that it's bright red and not burnt like burgundy color. Hope it's just a simple servo failure or wiring issue.
