I have a 1994 Lincoln town car with factory alarm. the alarm won't disarm. how do I bypass the alarm?

Sounds like you need some to remove the non-factory alarm system.

Factory or aftermarket?

Hook up the wire listed below, to a permanent ground in the jeep, and the alarm will be shut down as long as that wire remains grounded.

Factory Disarm Wire......Purple/Yellow......located inside the Driver's side Kick Panel wire connector.

since it works from the left button its not the motor, so it would have to be the switch that,s bad. replace right side switch and you should be back to proper operation.

I don't know about a dedicated fuse but you can try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then, with the battery still disconnected, turn the ignition key to on, then reconnect the battery. This has been a known way to also disarm the factory security.
If that doesn't work, and if you are handy with vehicle electrical, you can ground the factory disarm wire, to permanently disarm the factory security. It's location and color;

If the headlights are flashing, the alarm system is factory installed. Inserting the key into the driver door lock and turning to the left then back to the right is supposed to disarm it. If the parking lights are blinking,, the alarm is an aftermarket add on, and there should be a disarm button under the dash on the driver side. If it' an aftermarket alarm, you should be able to have it removed. There is a way to bypass the factory alarm. There is a wiring harness in the driver's door. You will have to remove the door panel to find it. The wire is dark green and purple. Splice into that wire and ground it to the chassis and the alarm should no longer work.

This is how you go about it:
Normally, you would insert the key in
the drivers door, turn left, then right
to disarm and reset it. If yours is malfunctioning,
you can disable it for good by doing the following:

The FACTORY ALARM DISARM is the
lt.green/orange 20 gauge
|-| negative wire in either kick panel,
at the door harness.
That's the area behind the plastic coverings
at your left leg area, or at the same spot
on the passenger side.

Once Located, splice into this wire with
a simular guage wire, and put it to
a solid chassis ground. This terminates
the alarm functions entirely.

However, at this point, this car would be exceedingly
easy to steel. It's up to you to protect it from here
on in.

assuming you have the Town Car with the FACTORY alarm system they actually called it the starter interrupt relay for some reason

you'll find it behind the right side of the dash


if you do not have the factory alarm system then there is no relay, just the old school starter solenoid and an ignition switch

do you know the factory code? the module is located in the pass side kick panel area the code should be on the module

i know this worked with my 99 navigator 32 valve used a viper car starter.
