You need to know why it's on really as could be a fault , get the OBD codes read as will pointout the issue ,might just need codes resetting , don't ignore this as is part of the safety system
Why do you continue to answer question the same as it was previously? The answer you gave on Nov.4th was the same as the one posted on Oct.29th. If you have additional information on the problem it would be helpful.
because that is the initial procedure to carry out first , did you do as has been suggessted ? if so then take vehicle to a mechanic , this online forum is to give advice and if it's helpful then thats great , i also answer around 25 posts a day , as a hobby , so i'm sorry didn.t recall your particular post , if you have had the OBD codes read by a competant mechanic then i'm sure he can help you further , we cannot see these vehicle's etc
sorry to Adam who originally posted the answer , i wasn't aware post had been answered as was sent to my e-mail , lighten up , we are both correct , and if the postee won't follow advice thats his problem , no offence meant , Steve

You first have to find out why it is on. The light can not just be turned off without correcting the malfunction.

Just had that problem w/ my 01 Dekota, it was the resistor that used to be mounted on the firewall and easy to get to but that is now mounted low on the back of the engine jammed into a bey tight position. I couldn't get to it myself, so ended up taking it to neighborhood garage. Cost me about $150
SOURCE: How do you install a window regulator for a 2001 dodge dakota?
well first take off the door panel it shouldnt be hard remove plastic cover off door.Make sure your window is all the ways up before you remove the motor.you can hold it up with duct tape or anything similar. Then remove the screw that go to the regulator sometimes it has rivets wich have to be drilled off.The new regulator should come with screws if it has rivets if not u use the same old screws. Also unplug the harness of it . Install new one, screw it on and reverse the procedure.Any problems keep me posted
