How to fix a loose Refrigerator Handle .... Refrigerator Repair - Door & handle, Amana , Whirlpool, Maytag ...
I FIGURED HOW TO REMOVE THE GRAB HANDLE INSERT MYSELF. YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE DOOR PANEL TO TAKE THEM OFF. UNDERNEATH THAT INSERT ON EACH END THERE IS A HALF A U ,THAT SLIDES IN EACH END AND HOLDS IT INTO PLACE ON THE GRAB HANDLE. THERE IS A LITTLE OPENING AND THE BOTTOM OFF THE GRAB HANDLE . JUST PUT A SMALL BLADED SCREW DRIVER IN THERE AND LIFT UP AND THEN GRAB WITH YOUR HANDS AND LIFT OFF. THERE ARE METAL CLIPS IN THERE HOLDING IT INTO PLACE
Did the handle break or the base? Typically the screws get loose and they won't tighten properly. That means you have to weld up the holes and redrill for new screws or weld nuts in for extra strength.
This will be a general response because I am not familiar with your vehicle but most of it applies to all vehicles. The handle/arm rest should have a couple of screws in it and the lock, if up by the window will have a cap that pulls off or the whole thing will pop off. From there it is just some plastic snap in connectors that pull out if you just grab gently around the door panel. You will have to remove the door panel to get the screws that hold on your grab handle. Before you go to all of that trouble I would check that there are not just some simple concealment covers on either side of the grab handle that you can pull separate and access the screw heads for that piece alone.
there should be two push in plugs at either end of the handle you will need a small pick to pop them out and be careful not to loose them they tend to fly out then look in the hole determine what type of driver it will take to tighten it most are a 10mm socket tighten and reverse the plugs be sure not to over tighten and strip them out.
there could be two hidden screws around the door handle! if there is a grab handle on top, there will be a screw on each side! if it is a regular door handle, there may be two little round plugs on the bottom side of the handle you'll have to pry out to get to the screws
There is a release cable that is attatched to the red releas handle on the drivers under dash panel. You can grab that cable with needle nose pliers to release the hood to the first detent if the handle or cable is broken. There is a secondary release mechanism(called a hood tongue) which routes through the grille where the rectangular slot is once the hood is popped up with the release handle.you can grab the rest of the broken hood tongue with needle nose pliers and pull it out to completly release the hood from the saftey catch. If it is completely broken you can take a long screw driver and push the saftey catch( i beleive to the right) and the hood should be able to open all the way up. Both the hood tongue and the cable(securing portion at release handle) are common failures and break over the years.if it is at the release handle you are having a problem-get a #2 phillips screw driver and remove the release handle to gain access to the loose cable. I hope I have been helpful
WHILE HAVING SOMEONE HOLD THE RELEASE, TRY PUSHING DOWN ON THE FRONT OF THE HOOD REPEATEDLY. IT MAY HAVE SOME RUST ON THE HOOD CATCH. SOMETIMES A LIGHT TAP CAN JAR IT LOOSE. IF AND WHEN IT POPS UP, TRY LUBRICATING THE CATCH WITH SOME LITHIUM GREASE. IF THE RELEASE CABLE HAS BROKEN AT THE RELEASE HANDLE SEE IF YOU CAN GRAB THE CABLE WITH A PAIR OF VISE-GRIP PLIERS AND GENTLY PULL. I HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED.
any auto parts store sells a special tool for about 3 or 4 dollars to remove those crazy clips you must pry out. there are like 2 screws by the grab handle, the rest is the panel clips. as for the door window sounds like the track screws may have slipped loose or rivets broke out...
2000 ford explorer back hatch handle loose door locked
The linkage on the back hatch came unfastened and the handle was loose. Ford uses plastic fastener clips over perfectly good threads to hold this together. The outdoor plastic handle is only conected to the car with two aluminum ribets. One was already missing on mine. But if you just want to open the door, you can rip the handle off and pull it out. hopefully you won't crack the plastic. You can see the linkage screw hanging as you look up through the left hole. Grab it with a plyers and apply a steady force down. This will open the hatch. I just rigged up a different handle and put a nut on the treads to hold it together. This can all be done without tearing appart the interier and may only take 20 minutes. I used a rope and handle from the garage opener, a medium size washer and a nut. First make a small loop, with a small hole to slide over the linkage screw, then the washer, then the nut. Slide the other end of rope through the handle, move the handle very close to the vehicle and tie the not close. Trim the rope and wala ... the hatch works. Or you can pay $300.00+ to have it fixed with the clip.
