Need this fixed
Not sure about your '92 F250 but many fuel systems sense the pressure and don't run continuously but only when fuel is used, clicking a few times when the ignition is turned on and pressure is present.
Your message was truncated so the rest of it is not visible.
Most fuel pumps use the chassis for the negative side of the power and this grounding point may be corroded.
I would loosen and re-tighten any points that may serve as ground.
SOURCE: Fuel pumps will not run!
Hey lets try this ! Locate your starter solenoid & look for a yellow wire marked with a "W" . That may be the fusible link for fuel pump. Let me know what you find.
SOURCE: fuel pump will not run
THERE IS A FUEL PUMP SHUT OFF SWITCH(INERTIA) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL.INSIDE CAB UNDER DASH.IT INTERUPTS POWER TO THE PUMP IF U ARE IN A COLLISION.PUSH THE RED BUTTON ON TOP OF IT.IF THAT DOES NOT WORK CHECK FOR POWER IN AND POWER OUT.NO POWER OUT BAD SWITCH.NO POWER IN OTHER PROBLEM
SOURCE: 91 ford ranger...fuel pump will not run pump is good
It won't hurt to jump sire to drive, It is designed to pump all time when the engine is running. The only problem is the pump should not be on if engine is not running since it is designed that way to prevent a fire while pump continues on once engine is stops in a car accident. There is a control device to immobilize the fuel pump, if there is no speed sensor signal from the crankshaft. This needs to be located and fixed.

yes there are 2 relays under the hood on the driver side
one fuel pump in the tank and another on the rail under the drivers side near your foot. take off the fuel cap and put ur ear next to the fuel pipe inlet and listen while a assistant turns on the key,,, not engage the starter just turning on the truck. You should hear the pump. also listen under the hood for the clicks of the relays. the top cover of the relays will tell you which one is for the fuel pump.
also check the Inertia Fuel Cut-Off Switch (inside the cab by the drivers foot) is a relay of sorts. This little relay is in your car to save your life from
fire by shutting off the fuel pump in the event of an accident. It cuts
the power to the fuel pumps when a predetermined force is applied. Just
like a circuit breaker the red button pops up when it is tripped. It
consists of a steel ball held in place by a magnet. When a sharp impact
occurs, the ball breaks loose from the magnet, rolls up and strikes a
target which opens the electrical contacts of the switch and shuts off
the electric fuel pump. It must be mounted straight up to work
correctly. On some vehicles a fuel reset light will illuminate on the
dash.
SOURCE: can anyone tell me the location of the fuel pump
The Fuel pump relay is a non serviceable relay ( built into the fuse panel ) in the 04-08 MY F-150s.
Did you check the Fuel Inertia switch ( in the passenger side kick panel by the fuse panel ) ?
If you are having a no fuel pressure issue, might want to take a look at the FPDM ( Fuel Pump Driver Module ) on the cross member above the spre tire ( need to drop the spare to see if ).
There is an issue with 04-07 ( 04-06 ?? ) MY trucks where the FPDM is bolted directly to the cross member, and dissimilar metal corrosion happens and builds up behind the FPDM, causing it to break.
Here are some before and after pictures from my 2006, I replaced mine for the heck of it and found that the case had cracked with ~ 51K miles on it, soon the PCB would have cracked leaving me stranded
New version of the FPDM with the stand off studs
This is the kit I got ( check that the Part Number has not been changed )
Testimonial: "thanks for the tip i'll check it out. i've tried to reset the fuel cut-out but it's hard to tell if it resets and finding a test point to prove it is well.... daunting. i have no fuel pressure whatsoever and the fuel pump will not run although it will if i put 12v directly to the fuel pump motor so i know it's not the fuel pump."
