Try re-_programming

  • janman Oct 26, 2014

as richard said- it needs to be re-programmed, once you remove or the battery goes dead, the key will loose its transponder code. making it unusable until the reciver in the car is told its new code is valid. this is meant to be a security feature to make it harder to fake the key

My guess, and its only a guess, is that its something to do with the anti tamper part of the immobiliser. Look in the drivers handbook or call a local Honda dealer / specialist or vehicle alarm company to see if there is a sequence with the key fob to reset the alarm.

Sounds like an aftermarket alarm, with a starter disable function. Something is triggering the alarm, which then kills the starter circuit. Not sure what exactly is causing it, but it seems like more than a coincidence that the battery was just replaced and it started acting up.

92 Toyota 4runner truck was running perfectly fine Later in the day went to start and the alarm just started going off and wouldn't turn off. Truck won't start even with keys turned in igniti

The alarm system somehow got activated , this is usually because the battery becomes discharged or disconnected try doing this:
Remove the key from the ignition
disconnect the negative battery terminal
put the key back in and turn to ON
exit the truck and leave door open
reconnect the battery terminal
get in and leave door open, if the alarm horn stays off it should start.

Car sat for six months. Battery went dead and replaced with new one. Got it started after new battery, now it won't start, the alarm led is either flashing bright or very dim flashing fast. I'm sure that...

When alarm goes off,put key in ignition and turn, the alarm should go off and alarm should be reset.Or,remove positive battery cable, wait 10 minutes, reconnect, when you open door, alarm will sound, insert key in ignition and turn key and alarm should go off and alarm should be reset.
