How do I disengage the anti-theft system on my 1990 Ford E150?

Doesn't look like it was installed at the manufacture. Sign on side window says "Caution this vehicle is equipped with remote security Re-Bass". When I press the unlock button on my remote the anti-theft light in the dash goes out. But when I turn the key the motor turns but won't start. The doors automatically lock & the light starts to flash again. Any suggestions?

If it's an aftermarket system you have to remove it and splice the wires under the dash where they were cut during install

1990 Chrysler Imperial. Deactivate the anti theft system.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to model category.

You can't, you have to fix the problem, not try and find a way around it. The anti theft system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You can't reprogram the computers, modules and sensors.

Does anyone know how to reprogram antitheft for 1998 Ford E150 Club Wagon?

Didn't I answer this yesterday?

If what was stated in the manual didn't work, perhaps you have a further problem? Call out a mobile auto-electrician, or auto-locksmith with a pro grade scan tool computer to check the module, and keys.

Location of antitheft module for 1998 Ford E150 Club Wagon?

Information in the link

This is my standard response to people that wish to remove anti-theft modules on high end saloons, but not quite sophisticated on an old ford van.

You can't remove it. The antitheft system is a module that integrates the key, the locks, the ignition switch and the ECM as well as other ingress sensors into the car. You have to fix it, not find a way around it. The system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You need the Dealership or a good auto-electrician to fix the issue you have.

Anti theft system was engaged when a wire arched when I was working on the fans how do I disengage the anti theft system

anti-theft systems are unique, in order to adequately assist you with disengaging your particular system we/I will need your model number of the alarm or the exact veichel it is installed in and rather or not it is a factory system. On another note if there was an "arch" then it is more than possible that 1 or more components were damage, the only solution may be to remove power to the anti-theft system permanently. Some extra information that's unsolicited, you should refrain from working on a veichel you/someone else depends on if your aren't able to adequately take precautions to protect yourself, vehicle and others. Good luck and thanks.

How to disconnect anti theft

It is hard to give a definite answer because I don't know which and how many wires were damaged...Anti theft can be a real HEADACHE.....You can begin by disconnecting battery cables..Use your VIN number for parts,Get new ignition with a programmed factory key from dealer only.....They probably blew certain fuses and or relays when this happened...Or maybe not..Install new ignition connect battery cables..,turn switch on just to check for bad fuses and relays...Disconnect battery again...replace any fuses blown...Connect battery again...( Each time you disconnect battery it resets the computer system and should clear anti theft codes..)..make sure all doors are unlocked by using door remote key fob....Now see if vehicle will crank..If all is done correctly it should start...However I don't know how much damage was done.....It may possibly be too much work to totally disengage anti theft....You could start with removing all fuses and relays related to anti theft but disconnect battery before...I DO NOT RECOMMEND trying to disable the theft system.....You may create more headaches that you want.......Begin by trying what I described just to be safe...!!....

1996 Explorer anti-theft system won't disable The anti-theft system on my 1996 Ford Explorer will not not turn-off with any normal method. Electronic keypad unlock on driver's door will not disable,...

Try re-setting the computer...Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery and leave off for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the computer to reset. The charger may have interupted the signal or something.
