1998 ram 1500 3.9L just clicks no start - 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD

Will it crank in neutral ?

what kind of truck could be a lose starter wire or the cylinoid could be bad

check battery connection.tune up,fuel filter,coils.

Could be moisture inside the distributor cap or faulty plug wires.

could be the starter, but first try to clean the battery cable ends, try this next time it clicks turn on the head lights and see if the lights go out when it clicks if they do it is a power supply problem ( battery, battery cable ends, ground cable, etc. ) if they stay on it is the starter....GOOD LUCK

It is possible to plug the main connector in upside down. Check to see if this is what you did. Other than that, does the engine roll over?

try turning motor over by hand, using a socket on crank, if motor turns over then possible starter motor

check your fuses and relays

try repairing the wire. if it is clicking then the batterys could be flat.
