Technically, there is a filter, but it is "lifetime". Therefore, you either drain and replace ~5 qts. (out of 9.5 qts. total capacity), or you have it flushed (but you must follow GM guidance).
Filter replacement requires transmission disassembly
most toyotas do have a drain bolt on transmission pan for draining the fluid, i would make sure you are draining at the correct time, this depends on what type of oil it uses. i think it is the TIV. call dealer and make sure ,the drain and refill holds 3.7 qts.
I can tell you this, i do not like the drain and refill , you are only draining 3.7 qts, then you add new oil to mix with the rest of the dirty oil in transmission, The best way is to flush system using a BG flush machine or compatible machine, this way 100% of the oil is removed and replaced with new.
15 quarts is total capacity of transmission, toprque converter, lines and the cooling reservoir. What you would have to add if a new transmission was being installed.
8 quarts is the capacity if you were to drain the transmission on the car, like if you were doing a flush and refill, you take the lower transm. pan off and let all fluid drain, you will only get about 8 quarts.
yes they recommend 50k with dexron iii fluid 100k with dexron vi with u can use in any gm dexron trnamission do i total flush which is about 13 qts if u only drop the pan ur at 7 qts
doesnt have one has a site plug on the transmission good thing to have done is have a trans flush if u got at least 60k on it and switch to dexron vi fluid btw it it takes 12 qts for a flush
There is no drain on the radiator, loosen lower hose to empty coolant. Metal pipes are the transmission fluid lines. Coolant quantity for the 6 cyl is 14 qts, and 15.3 qts for the V8. If you have the extended wheelbase model, the quantity is 15.2 qts and 18 qts respectively.
The newer vehicles today use synthetic fluids in their engines as well as the transmissions. Any type of synthetic transmission fluid will work. You will need 12 qts. of fluid to flush the unit. But usually to flush a transmission you need a transmission flush machine or access to one. Unless you are going to drop the filter pan then you are really not flushing the transmission.
