2006 skoda superb 2.0 tdi elegance. Hi folks. My car has just recently started flashing the curly light (not sure if it's called coil light or glow plug light) and it has went into limp mode a few times. Most times the light comes on and runs as normal and the light goes out after a while. I always use good fuel in my car eg. BP ultimate, and would now and again use a liquid moly DPF cleaner to keep it right. Took it to a garage and no fault code was showing. My psv test is coming up and I'm afraid to fail on this. Please can anyone suggest what to do. Many thanks.

If its a diesel. Then you might want to think about having the computer tested or the glow plug timer replaced

SOURCE: Audi A6 3.0 tdi Quattro 2005, glow plug light comes on, limp mode

16619 -Engine boost condition - Limit not reached. Check intake hoses/ connections for leaks. Check Turbo charger waste gate regulating valve/ waste gate working correctly. Must move freely when accelerating, won't achieve full boost if waste gate sticking open. Check Turbo impeller turning freely, oil feed pipe for turbo can get blocked causing impeller to seize. Engine compact, not easy to access these components.

SOURCE: shogun elegance ask light comes on and the car goes in to limp mode

Hello

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems.

My skoda superb has engine light on in dashboard and the glow plugs light flashing sometimes with lose of power.can you help my with a good answer

On the skoda the coil lights flashing indicate a engine fault , normaly it will be a fuel fault something as little as fuel filter issue or could be boost fault , split vac pipe or intercooler pipe , easyest way to get to the fault is by putting it on a computer to get the fault code that put the light on , the loss of power will be the ecu putting the car in to limp home mode

Skoda superb (2011) engine fault warning random occurrance. Switching engine off and on again clears fault until next random occurrance. Solution?

Sounds like a hard code in PCM, needs scanner to read code and after repair clear it, shouldn't come back after repair.

Glow plug light flashes on97 tdi sharan

on some diesel engines the glow plugs will cycle after the engine is started. it does sound like your glow plugs are not all working that would cause the hard start and excessive smoke when it does start.
