SOURCE: blend door

Yes take the glove box out. Once done you should see a control that kinda resembles a boot and it has a small white arm on it that looks like a straw and has two phillip head screws that should be removed then disconnect the wire connection to it. Once you do that get a dremmel tool and cut a hole wide enough to see the doors they are right behind that black wall and dont worry its ok to cut that spot out all that comes out of it is air and it wont bother anything. you can take the doors out from there or at least see wuts wrong with it. More that like that thing i said that looked like a straw is connected to an actuator arm which the doors are connected to. You can see if they are broke or the arm just needs replacing from there. Doors up for heat------Doors down for a/c. You will see what i mean. If I confused ya then go to www.heatertreater.net and it will give you a picture of what i mean....

Heater does not work what do i look for?

If both heater hoses are getting hot, and the radiator is full of coolant, you may have a problem with the blend door under the dash.
The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vents.

Cold air comes out front vents in 1999 windstar

Usually a sign of a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the vent outlets. One blend door is directly behind the radio.

My 98 dodge intrepid's heater works great until I come to a stop or am sitting in park but as soon as I take off it starts blowing out hot air again.

This sounds like a bad blend door vacuum actuator to me.
If the heater core is hot at idle, but the inside cabin doesn't get hot air, then the blend door is something to look into.

Good luck on this repair.

Is there easy access to the blend doors?

You must remove the dash to access the blend door.

1999 Silverado - cannot get the temperature to switch from cool air to warm air when turning the knob to heat.

The temp blend door, or blend door actuator may be faulty. You can check this by watching the movement of the blend door actuator while you turn the temp selector knob. If the actuator is working, then it may be the blend door, or blend door lever broken. If these are ok then the control head may be faulty.

Key wont unlock door from outside

Take nozzle of WD-40, or similar penetrating spray & stick in key slot as deep as you can & spray inside, see if that helps.
