Doubt it as the fault suggests you need to look into the range sensor. If similar to Renault there is a switch on the gearbox that senses where the select lever is (at the gearbox end). If the display is wrong then the sensor needs looking at and either it will need to be adjusted into a set position by moving it, or perhaps the connector to it or wiring to/from it have a fault.

You need to check the linkage. Under the car, the section that connects the gear shift stick to the transmission rods.

SOURCE: '89 dodge dakota manual transmission A535 will not

Most likely solution is the gear selector fork in the transmission has broken and is no longer engaging the gears.

Repair requires transmission removal and partial overhaul.

SOURCE: I just changed my honda

You may need to find out if the transmission has a leak or is a cvt type of transmission. If the vehicle has a cvt transmission and the incorrect fluid type was used can cause major problems. You should contact the facility that performed your service. If the shop that performed your service used the wrong fluid type the liability falls to them for repairs unless you changed fluid because there was an issue already. If it was just maintenance to have serviced the tranny and this is end result definitely contact the repair facility.

Hi i have a 2005 mitsubishi triton v6 at the gear stick i have no gears it roll like its in nutrel, its a manual box.

You might have lost a bolt from the gear shifting leaver, which holds it to the transmission, when that happens usually it feels like that.

Gear

Master/Slave cylinder issues, check fluid levels of brake fluid reservoir and bleed system where it attaches to the transmission.
Have someone push on the clutch pedal as you watch for movement of the clutch fork where the Slave cylinder attaches to the transmission. If the Fork moves then it is either bent or slipped off the throw-out bearing, the throw-out bearing is seized maybe, the clutch disk itself could be worn or the syncro-mesh teeth inside the transmission are worn from missing gears while shifting.

2002 jeep grand cherokee wont reverse when in gear. hear it get into gear but wont move...

first check fluid is full by starting the engine have it blocked put in in nutral( to fill the bell houseing ) then check fluid level, more than likely you need to add fluid exspecally if your checking it in park with engine on or off park gives you a false reading on the dip stick

My truck is stuck in nutral and wont go into any gear

Hi Rach,
Do the gears change with the engine off? If they change you have a clutch assembly problem. If the gears refuse when off the problem is with the gearbox.

Gear link or box problem

Sounds like a piece of linkage came loose. If it were an internal tranny problem, doubtful that the stick would be loose. Examine all linkage for something very obvious.

it sounds like you ground the spacers between the gears. have a look under the gear shift. pull the gear shift off then look at the transmission spacers. you will see where the gear shift sits see if some spacers look like the rest.
