Yes this is what happens when you disconnect the battery while engine is running. The alternator keeps power going to all components as well as charging battery, this is alternating current or AC. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

My 2005 dodge neon's battery won't hold a charge, lights flicker and dim and on the dashboard the word fuse flashes, what is going on?

Could be a bad battery but I suspect your battery cable is either loose or corroded or dirty. Before you pull the battery disconnect your battery cables and clean them both ends and when you put them back on make sure you have good connections and tighten good.If that does not work pull your battery and get it tested at a battery out let . they should do that for free.

Why does my 2005 neon make no sound when the key is turned?

all the neon I have seen have way to small battery cables and ground wires. We had this issue with our neon. Replace both ground to engine block and battery to starter cables , and terminal ends with heavy duty ones . and add a heavy duty ground cable from battery to body. this will permit the charging / starting systems to work with greater efficiency.

How do I reset service soon light on a 1998 dodge neon

First see what code is in the computer.Cycle the key three times and stop when it in the run position. The check engine light will start blinking. The first code should blink once then pause, then two blinks. This is showing that it is in the diagnostic mode. read all codes the same way, untill it starts with 12 again. Write them down. Then remove the negative cable from your battery post, after one minute, replace neg. cable. The light should be off.If it comes on again, it has set a hard code. You must repair whatever the codes indicate. Get a list of trouble codes online at Google.

What is P0137 on my dodgeneon sxt mean my engine light is on

oxygen sensor bank 1 failure, replacement warranted. Please do this replacement, if you fail to repalce, this will ruin your catylitic converter. Obtain a o2 sensor removal tool and socket wrench, the o2 sensor will be in front where the radiator is, remove this and install a new one, do not ever drop this, it is indeed fragile, after disconnecting the neg battery terminal then you can proceed with this mission.

My 2005 Dodge Neon has started to stall at odd times when I am trying to park or when I shift to reverse. I have also had problems with my key sticking in the ignition switch.

Hi- I have one of these -
First off get a new key made and that will help.

when getting ready to exit the vehicle push the gear selector all the way forward - a little extra effort and then remove the key - to fix have the cable adjusted

as for the shutting off - replace the air filter -and spark plugs if you have not done so in the paste year.

Best of it

05 dodge neon stx

To find the starter just follow the cable from the positive post of your battery. If you plan to replace it, REMOVE THE NEGATIVE CABLE FROM THE BATTERY!! This is a very hard starter to work on! Both replacing and fixing! OK Frankster016
