Greg,
Air, fuel, spark. Each will have to be tested. Sometimes when you think the battery is good, it's really not. It can have some juice in it but the CCA (cold cranking amps) is really what you need to have at near full capacity. Are the battery cables in good shape and not just at the connectors to the battery. They can corrode (especially the positive red cable) at both ends (at the starter (red) and at the ground (black).
Did you recently work on the truck and replace something? Retrace your steps if so.
Fuel filter not clogged (recently replaced) and fresh fuel in tank?
Pair filter in place and not clogged?

Check and make sure that you didn't get wires pinched between the transmission bell housing and engine.

Currently my 88 Chev half ton has 15'' rims,5 bolt pattern. Can I put 16" rims on?

Dear Lawrence,
This should be fine.
However, remember some precautions.
Be sure the 16's have the same bolt pattern, and, most important, be sure there is clearance for the tires and the wheels.
Both tires and wheels have different sizes, widths, and heights.
I would try a 16 on each location front & rear and test it before you go out and buy anything.
You are particularly looking inside the tires and wheels to be sure nothing will rub, especially when the truck bounces up and down, and when you turn the steering wheel all the way.
God bless our efforts.

1993 oldsmobile 88 royale has been hard to turn over, but now it just wont start...still has power to radio etc, lights are not dim, checked the battery and its fine, maybe battery cables or starter...

Over half of GM no starts stem from the antitheft security system turning off starters or injectors. Its that chip in your key. Check out this link, fix it yourself and save some cash. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

96 half ton turns over won't start

I see you mentioned everything except the battery. Have battery load tested as a weak battery will crank vehicle but may not spin engine fast enough. Dirty connections or corroded cables/ends could cause same problems. Hope this helps.

Cant shift in my 88 crx

I would recommend flushing the tranny fluid. you could go with GM synchromesh fluid found at the GM dealer and it will make the shifting buttery smooth. I use this all the time. appx 2 quarts.
