Rear seat release won't allow seat to go down on ford mustang

I tried to pull the release straps on the rear seat to get into the trunk from inside the car but the seats will not come down. I had tried hitting the area where it latches to see if anything is stuck in there an yanked on it hard still will not come down.

There is also a lock near the top you might have to use your key to unlock.

SOURCE: I have a 1997 Ford Escort. The rear seat belt is stuck

make sure that the rear seats are properly locked into rear catches as this can stop your seatbels from working if ok then sounds like your seatbelt is faulty req new seatbelt.

SOURCE: Kia Sedona seat stuck

Got it, with the help and eyes of my wife. The rear latch releases as the seat back is lowered. This release is ALMOST seat back down (about 3 inches above the seat bottom). As the seat back lowers, apply constant lift on the rear latch, and it will release as the seat back lowers. Hard-won knowledge - I think I invented some bad words in the process.

How to fold down the rear seat in a 1997 2 door cavalier from the trunk

Assuming yours is the third generation Cavalier, (1995 to 2005), the seats can only be dropped from the trunk. Open the trunk lid and look up at the underside of the parcel shelf. There should be two straps hanging side by side. If you pull the left one the left seat should release and the right one for the right seat. You should hear it release as you pull it. Sometimes you have to push Gently on the back of the seat as you pull the strap to get it to release. Swing the seat belt straps out of the way and the seat should fold almost flat.

How to let down back seat in Chevy Cavalier 2005

Pull the release straps located in the trunk. The right strap operates the passenger's side rear split seat. The left strap operates the driver's side rear split seat. Fold the seatback down from the inside of the vehicle

Trunk access from back seat

Some vehicles have drop down rear seat, should be a button or pull strap to release. Others do not have the option, and would require removal of the lower seat and seat back by removing bolts.

I went to open my 2005 Toyota Corolla trunk using my car key. When I rotated the key, the mechanism went 90 degrees CCW but the trunk remained locked. I tried the trunk release in the car but it wouldn't...

If you have rear seats that fold down you can access the latch mechanism from the left side rear seat....if you are flexible. pull the corner of the seat forward to allow your arm to slide in behind. about 14-16" in, feeling up inside the trunk you can feel 3 quarter size holes in the sheet metal. The second hole has the cable release arm. stick your finger up there are pull towards you. this will release the seat allowing it to fold down. Crawl into the trunk. there is a glow in the dark release handle on the inside of the trunk lid to open the trunk. Note, these are instructions for an '04 corolla but I think it should work

How do i put the back seats down?

The rear seat back should have a loop towards the top. Pull on the loop and it will release the latch and allow the seatback to fold down. With split seat backs, each side will have this loop.

I cannot fold down seat

Try looking for a strap in your trunk it should be located at the upper inside of your trunk, there could be one or two straps, when you pull on these straps they act as a release lever for your rear seats, pull the straps toward you and push the seats forward from the trunk side.

Locked keys in trunk

2001 olds alero rear seats

There shouls be 2 straps inside the trunk at the top. Both on the driver side but one is for the left side and one for the right side seats. Pulling on the straps releases the 'lock' that should then allow you to pull down the seats from the back seat area.
