SOURCE: installing after market stereo

Dave,

You will need to go buy a wiring harness adapter from your local Walmart (usually cheapest there) or Local Electronics place (ie Best Buy). The wire harness that goes out from the radio goes into the Adapter and the adapter plugs into the car harnesses. Also these Adapters come with the wiring diagrams for your vehicle. They typically run 10 - 15 bucks depending on where you get them. Thanks for using FixYa!

Sincerely,

JC

There is an updated resistor/connector package. Very expensive from GM, try your local NAPA or other parts supplier for a replacement

Not on a stock radio. Your best bet would be a radio transmitter that plugs into your cigar lighter.

SOURCE: aftermarket stereo wiring harness does not fit oem

Theres a standard amongst most stereos, so if these colors apply, then you will be right,
Red is Ignition power
orange is direct power
Black is earth
blue is for phone
White is for electric arial
then there will be four coloured wires with matching color trace wires, these are the speaker wires.
Hope this gets you going, good luck.

You may lose the Bose amp too. That would be no sound from the speakers too. I don't think they will exchange.

2000 chevy tahoe speaker wiring

This will depend on whether it's a Bose system, or not.
Non-Bose AC/Delco radioFront Speakers are:L. (-) Light GrayL. (+) TanR. (-) Lt. GreenR. (+) Dk. Green
Rear:L. (-)YellowL. (+)BrownR. (-)Lt. BlueR. (+)Dk. Blue
Be sure to test the connections, as you will notice that there are 2 Yellow wires, 2 Brown wires and 2 grey wires behind the factory radio.

GM pairs all the speakers into separate 4-pin plugs for front and rear. If the factory harness is intact, I'd suggest just getting wire harness adapter from any of your local car audio shops, you'll also need a GM mini antenna adapter, if you are hooking up a new stereo.

Wire harness to switch from stock stereo to cd player will not fit the wires that are supposed to? so what wires are the speaker wires

Not sure I understand your question. Did you buy a harness adapter for GMC, or are you trying to just cut the connector off the factory radio and solder it to your CD player? If the latter, below is the color code for your factory wiring.
