An Olds Alero does not have an inertia switch. If your pump is not running you must figure out if it is your VATS system, fuel pump relay, or pump motor itself.

There isn't an overdrive relay. There is an overdrive solenoid. It takes about four hours to replace. You better have manuals and patience to do it. otherwise you will mess up the transmission worse than it is already..I really don't recommend a nice to do it. When you take it apart, there are parts that fall out. You lose them or don't get them back in place, a transmission rebuild ,plus extra parts are in the works for you.

to begin with you only want to use overdrive while on the highway never in town driving.. if car wont shift up then possible relay bad. is the check engine light on? have car scanned to read codes and go from there..

I replaced the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay also the battery is new and its cranks but it is not starting. What do I need to do next? or replace? possibly since its a 2002 Alero, would it be the ignition switch?

The relay center is located on the drivers side kick panel,number 3 and 4 relays are for the starter.

THERE A CROSS OVER EXHAUST PIPE TO THE FRONT EXHUAST MAG ON BACK OF THE ENGINE OVER THE TRANS RIGHT IN BACK OF THAT PIPE CENTER OF THE BACK OF THE ENGINE.

It is relay #18 in the Engine Compartment Fuse Block. Page 6-59 in the owners manual.
