You are better off contacting the dealership to have these items looked at. Depending on warranty, it may be a covered item. And if this issue results in a problem with the display and not the camera, many of today's newer cars have these systems VIN programmed, which will put you in the dealership anyway

Dealer says problem with backup camera not working is because the radio needs to be replaced because their wiring is the same and together?

Hi,

it would make sense because in a lot of cars, the screen for the backup camera is integrated into the infotainment system (which includes the radio).

I'm surprised the dealer didn't' just recommend an infotainment system to replace your radio with. You might call another Hyundai dealer and ask them to recommend an infotainment system which includes a backup camera integration. They should be able to handle the full installation.

Thank you.

2011 chrysler town and country back up camera display not working

I have this problem with the backup camera, the dealership is telling me that the problem is in the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module). I am guessing there is a circuit board with a relay that went bad. They are telling me that the part is over $1000. I am going to check it out myself to be sure before fixing this.

BACKUP CAMERA PROBLEM

I had similar intermittent camera problem after it got worse I decided to get fix. I took picture on way to dealer to show the problem this made no difference since it did not prove it came from my car. The service manager said they had to duplicate the problem before they could fix since it could be caused by wiring, radio or camera. I assume it would not happen at the dealer and made myself a pain while I waited to see if they could duplicate. After an hour of waiting I check to see the status and the manger said they were replacing the camera. A week later and the camera has worked perfectly.

2008 nissan armada backup camera wont work

make sure your backup lights are coming on. if the backup lights are working when in reverse then most likely you have a bad camera or loose connection. also may want to check for power to the camera ( fuses/circut).

O/D off flashing, backup lights not work,

The vehicle speed sensor is going bad . That's what is causing erratic shifting an the O/D light flashing .
Lamps, Backup The back-up lamp system consists of:
  • the transmission range (TR) sensor.
  • the back-up lamp bulb(s) located in both rear lamp (13404) assemblies
  • circuit wiring and circuit protection
Circuit protection is provided to the transmission range (TR) sensor through fuse 30 (25A). This fuse is hot in RUN. With the transmission in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to the back-up lamp bulbs through Circuit 140 (BK/PK). Ground is provided to the back up lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK). The range sensor is located on the transmission at the manual lever.
