I called the Hyundai dealership they said they only sell them with a new rack and pinion. The thing is my rack in pinion is just fine. Why replace it when bushings are way cheaper. I need the BUSHINGS only!!!!!! The bushings are what holds the rack in place. I DON'T NEED A NEW RACK.

Hello. It seems your rack and pinion unit is at fault. The left side of your car's rack and pinion unit is 'stripped'; making left turns hard to make. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

Where can I buy rack and pinion bushings for manual steering?

try a steering specialist shop as they may have stock of bushes for manual/power steering rack boxes ( shouldn't be any difference between manual and power steering box bush)
if you can get a bush out to use as a sample , many bearing shops sell bushes as well

How do you replace the tie rod end bushing on a

If your having a hard time taking the nut off the tie rod without the stud spinning use a jack or pry bar and put some pressure on the bottom of the tie rod. An impact gun will usually zip it right off too. Be sure to get an alignment once you replace the tie rod.

Rack and pinion or steering kit

your vehicle has a transverse mounted engine and most newer vehicls have rack and pinion steering versus a shaft going to a gear box with a drag link and sway bar type steering system. most full size suvs have the gear box set up. some suvs like dodge durango have both a gear box and a rack and pinion. your vehicle has only the rack and pinion

Power steering pump seems to be dieing on my 2001 hyundai elantra

If it happens mainly when your car is cold, it is a common symptom known as "morning sickness" or "black rack disease". Check your power steering fluid to see if it has become discoloured. If so, try flushing the system and replace the fluid with an approved power steering fluid. If this does not solve the problem, you may need to replace the rack and pinion steering unit.
