2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD with factory Bose stereo system but no on-star, put an aftermarket clarion CD/DVD player in it over 2 years ago i put in the adapter for making the Bose factory system work and bypassing the on-star setup it worked fine up until 8-10 months ago when the factory speakers would quit working but my aftermarket sub and aftermarket amp and CD player all still worked we would start the truck and drive and the factory speakers might come on right away sometimes would take who knows how long but usually always came back on until a month ago when the factory speakers didn't come on and still wont come on, the CD player works fine, everything was professionally installed and the after-market subs and amp are still working and making sound I have checked the Bose amplifier harness and have positive, have you heard of situations or people having problems with this system? any suggestions?
SOURCE: YUKON CD PLAYER NO SOUND!
Is your IP Bus cable on the INPUT and not the OUTPUT ? I know it sounds funny, but usually(95%), that's the case. If it's in the wrong plug, you'll have power and a display, but no audio. That's why your getting data but no audio.
There is no remote wire on these newer trucks....03 and up....u have to buy the harness....although i didnt....i have an 03 gmc sierra and just pulled the schematic and matched the wires. And there is no programming to do on an aftermarket stereo.....I work for GMC and we cant program aftermarket stereos......if u buy the right harness ...and its over $100 then everything should work just fine.....and this does not disarm ur alarm system either....mine still works fine....hope this helps
