I'm a qualified Hyundai tech but sounds like a cam sensor/ crank sensor issue.
Is the check engine light on?

  • Scott Dec 18, 2014

Yes the light is on, they put a header on it previously with no o2 sensor spot so I got the tech to put one in, the light was off for about 3 miles then come back on, the guys at advanced hooked it up and said it was the tps or the mas so I replaced both and that's when the cilinders quit firing. Thanks ill try it.

If wiggling the wires cured the code, then one of the wires is broken inside the insulation. Pull on each wire one at a time. look for the colored insulation to stretch, this will be the broken wire. For the other car that wont rev up, this is a common when the catalytic concverter is plugged up. This will also cause MAF codes, and in turn, TRAC OFF light.

SOURCE: 91 LEGACY STARTED RUNNING ROUGH

The cylinders are numbered as on the spark pack you changed. You might have done better putting the seafoam in the tank as an injector cleaner. Not sure why you changed so many parts, you seem to know how to get the codes from test connector lead hookup and the blink pattern. You might also want to check the fuel rail pressure and the crank and cam angle sensors. Before replacing the injector, swap the #4 injector with the adjacent one and see it the code moves with the injector or stays put. If the code stays on #4, then check the injector wiring, if it moves clean or replace the injector.

Smell the coolant. Is there any hint of gas smell? Also look at oil, any coffee coloring indicates problems.

P0103 code. I cleaned maf still have same code and stalls. I disconnect maf still stalls. I changed it one year ago code come back after 4 weeks. I have 2000 Hyundai Elantra.

the ecm may be bad,
P0103 OBD-II Trouble Code Technical Description Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit High Input What does that mean? Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow High (MAF) sensor or circuit. A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had higher than expected voltage (air flow). Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0100, P0101, P0102, and P0104. Symptoms You will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness. Causes A code P0103 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad The MAF sensor may be damaged The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare) Possible Solutions The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures: Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires. Inspect for any air leaks near the MAF sensor. Take the MAF out and clean it using a spray cleaner such as brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Be gentle with the sensor. Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information) Replace the MAF sensor. Dont accelerate at all plz help

Check mass air flow sensor (if equipped). clean mass air flow sensor( only with mass air flow sensor cleaner. PLZ). I think once you've cleaned the sensor, you'll get your acceleration back. Hope this post was of some help.

It comes up on computer as air instate flow what would that happen

Sounds like mass air flow sensor or ur air cleaner is loose or leaking. The big problem with this car was bad pin tension in the connectors.

My chevy blazer 2000 ha a p0101 code changed the mass air flow sensor still does not want to accelerate

Hi there:
This code is set when the MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter is not sending the PCM the correct information. This can be due to a bad conection of the rubber intake hose between the MAF and the Throttle plate opening, a dirty air filter, a dirty mass air flow or a bad mass air flow.

Most programmer have you tie into the iat sensor in the mass air flow. this can cause the the iat sensor oto short out.

Hope helps.
