Erratic idle can be many things but as the head has been worked on double check all the connectors to the injector's, vacuum lines , air intake etc have been replaced correctly and look for signs of wear, splits in the pipe work , have the OBD codes read as could have a sensor/switch issue

If you follow the upper radiator hose to the engine usually you will find the thermostat housing it will most likely have two bolts . Make sure if you replace the thermostat to have a gasket and also some gasket sealer. Good luck !!!!
Nothing wrong with the Corsa. My aunt could wreck a gear box every three months. After she wrecking 7 gearboxes, she switched to automatic transmission. That solved the problem.
