I have tried removing the instrument panel and plugging it back in again. It may work for a few minutes, but then goes out again.
I have the same problem on instrument cluster sometimes its working very well and sometime not. i try different thins i clean the terminals adding more ground and power but the problems always come back. so i change the whole instrument cluster.i recomend to change your instrument cluster
It sounds like the instrument panel isn't making good connections. After starting the vehicle, if the gauges aren't working smack the top of the dash with the flat of your hand. If the gauges start working the cluster isn't making good connections. Remove it again and inspect the connectors if they look dull or corroded use whatever you can to remove the corrosion. An emery file works in some connections, fine sand paper wrapped around something that will fit into them etc. Sometimes a knife tip in there and a light scraping to clean off the surface. Hope this does the trick.

check the wiring from the tailights back to the fuse panel, it sounds like an open connection. if i recall correctly check under the dash on the drivers side near the fuse panel for a bunch of wires in a bundle and look carefully for a wire or two that are cut/shorted/or seperated, you can also check under the drivers side kick panel by the hood release.
SOURCE: MY 2004 CHEVY TAHOE AC AND HEATER FAN DOES NOT
It may be the heater fan motor or connection to it .
I have replaced a lot of these that required a new connector to make then work....as the original connector semi melted at the fan motor.

SOURCE: power door locks on a 2004 chevy tahoe don't work
The door locks on my 1999 tahoe stopped working and I checked the fuse, which was fine. The problem turned out to be that the fuse for my cigarette lighter was bad and for some reason it also must be working in order for the door locks to work. Put in a new cigarette lighter fuse and the door locks worked again!
